Sermorelin

Sermorelin is a synthetic peptide analog of growth hormone–releasing hormone (GHRH), consisting of the first 29 amino acids of the naturally occurring hormone. It stimulates the pituitary gland to increase endogenous growth hormone production, supporting healthy metabolism, muscle development, and recovery.

Being studied for:

Stimulating endogenous growth hormone (GH) secretion via the pituitary gland.

Modulating insulin‐like growth factor‐1 (IGF‑1) levels and downstream GH/IGF‑1 signaling.

Investigating age‐related GH decline (somatopause) and its effect on lean body mass, fat accumulation, recovery, and general vitality.

Exploring effects on body composition: lean muscle mass, fat mass reduction, metabolic rate, lipolysis and insulin sensitivity.

Studying tissue repair, regeneration, and recovery in catabolic states, injury, or aging‐related degeneration.

Maintaining or supporting pituitary responsiveness and preserving natural GH pulsatility and endocrine feedback loops.

Investigating its use in pediatric growth hormone deficiency (GHD) and as a diagnostic agent for pituitary GH release capacity.
